After School

312/365
When darkness falls this early, I often insist kids go out to play first, then do homework. No matter how much they complain.

you let your kids play. you are nicer than I am. i'm working on being the meanest dad in eastern massachusetts. it's hard work.

You. Are. So. Mean.

Rupe doesn't think he likes you anymore .....

PG, you should have heard the moaning and groaning from a certain individual when I said " go outside & play!" I guess mean is all the eye of the beholder... but don't let that deter you -- keep up the good work!

Rupe, you forgot the eyeroll, and stomping of feet...

Just like a mother: Be mean and be demeaning ....

So, what you are really saying is, your kids have no idea you are the coolest mother around?? :-)

Exactly!

My oldest would complain, too. She lives for homework. When she doesn't have any, she'll study old work. I think I'll try your meanness on my youngest though. Maybe she'll be able to concentrate on her homework after a good run around the yard!

you oldest daughter would also complain. she doesn't so much live for homework but she likes to get work out of the way first. but if i was offered to play...whoa, watch out! you're the coolest mom around.
