Field Day

97/365
I have been sweating about this shot for days. The first time anyone ever asks me to take a photo, and it has to be of 120 fourth graders in a poorly-lit school cafeteria. I've slept fitfully, dreaming of flash malfunctions, dead batteries, accidentally erased memory cards, and...120 fourth graders running amok.
In the end, it all turned out ok. For that, I must thank Lindsey for giving me a mini crash course in external flash; Andy for corralling the kids, and providing on the spot advice & general hand-holding; and Larry, for his editing expertise and the best deal in town on 5x7s for all the kids.

Rupe wonders who the bonehead is that ruined the picture by sticking his legs out in front of his ownself there on the left .....

I did the same thing with my Roller Derby League shot. I ended up panicking and having my shutter a bit too slow so the pic wasn't as sharp as I'd have liked but it came out decent.

I wonder if the nightmares about malfunctions ever go away? I have them right before weddings every.damn.time!

Wow, you do get the trophy. First it was sewing costumes for the school play now you have advanced to school photographer.
Which duty gave you more sleepless nights?
I bow before your talents!
